Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) is pleased to offer a paid opportunity to work with the National Invest Program as an Insurance Industry Relations Intern (virtually) for the 2025/2026 school year. Invest is a 501c(3) focused on educating individuals on insurance and the various careers across the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the collaborative initiatives with key stakeholders including agents, carrier executives, college students and association staff across Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA). This internship will provide amble opportunity to build your communication and project management skills, while participating in strategic partnerships across the insurance industry. The ideal candidate is an ambitious, organized, forward-thinking individual who is ultimately considering future opportunities in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow social media presence, including LinkedIn (industry-facing) and Instagram (student-facing) by helping create engaging content, designing graphics and monitoring analytics.
Assist in coordinating volunteer engagement meetings with agents, carrier executives and industry groups.
Provide thought leadership to inspire and attract more high school students to explore careers in the insurance industry.
Help in developing volunteer opportunities for risk management students to engage high school students on insurance education and career awareness.
Take on additional projects and tasks that align with your skills, interests, and organizational needs.
Basic Qualifications
Availability to work 8–10 hours per week (weekly schedule to be determined).
Strong communication and writing skills.
Ability to create engaging social media graphics.
Comfortable using video conferencing platforms.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to manage multiple projects and ideas in a fast-paced environment.
Prior volunteer leadership experience in a professional organization is a plus, but not required.
Required Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Risk Management or business-related field.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Prior work experience is a plus.
