What does an ACTUARIAL ANALYST Level I or Level II do?
Responsible for in-depth actuarial analyses of data and trends to provide actuarial recommendations for reserves adequacy and book of business pricing:
Understand data sources, and pull, query and aggregate data for various projects based on need.
Assist in data validation, creation of data reports for results analyses.
Provide and maintain actuarial data and tools used by key management decision-makers.
Assist in creating quarterly rate level indications. Collaborate with Regional Product and Corporate Product departments on key findings and key selections.
Share and discuss rate change proposals with Product & Field Operations partners. Ensure the use of sound pricing data and proper use of actuarial principles in rate change analyses.
Assist in production and delivery of actuarial rate filing support.
Documents assumptions, methods, sources and considerations in an organized way.
Prepares actuarial briefings with the support of senior actuarial analysts and leadership.

What is required?
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, with preference in a quantitative analytical field such as Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance and Economics.
Level 1: Must have 1 exam completed
Level 2: Must have 2-3 exams completed, based on years of experience
Experience:
2-4 or more years of Property/Casualty Insurance actuarial pricing work experience required depending on Level 1 or Level 2.
Prefer insurance or other relevant work experience
Other skills and abilities:
Basic knowledge of actuarial ratemaking principles, reserving theories and techniques.
Experience collaborating on cross-functional team projects.
Demonstrable skills in performing mathematical calculation; strong computer skills, specifically in databases and spreadsheets, including SAS VBA/SQL.
Familiarity in programming using R, Python or other comparable language.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. with the ability to effectively plan work for multiple projects.
Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in work product.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Well organized and detail- oriented with high learning agility.
Self-motivated individual able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and contribute as part of a dynamic team
