Actuary IV (Property & Casualty Actuary)
Performs advanced actuarial work to support the strategic objectives. Work involves performing actuarial analysis and examination of reserves and other actuarial matters. Works under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position:
Participates in the actuarial portion of comprehensive financial examinations of property & casualty insurance companies and other related entities and prepares examination reports and workpapers.
Performs reviews of actuarial opinions, supporting actuarial reports, and other related actuarial analysis.
Reviews workpapers and reports prepared by others.
Provides feedback, support, and technical assistance to others as applicable.
Performs actuarial analysis of specific transactions and agreements as needed to determine actuarial appropriateness, compliance with requirements, and appropriate financial statement presentation.
Participates in special projects as assigned such as developing or revising rules, legislation, and requirements.
Completes relevant continuing education, including meeting the minimum requirement to maintain actuarial credentials.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably with a major in statistics, mathematics or actuarial science, insurance, or related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant actuarial work experience.
Associate or Fellow with the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries in good standing including maintaining required continuing education credits.
Must be eligible for the bond-related provisions of Insurance Code Section 401.106 and take the oath required by Insurance Code Section 401.105.

Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telecommuting. Employees must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.
