R21292 Actuarial Analyst/Senior Analyst - Auto Ratemaking (Open to Remote) - Multiple Positions (Open)

The Actuarial Analyst/Senior Analyst develops rate level indications and performs actuarial analysis for ratemaking assumptions, rating plan development, and new product design through statistical analysis tools. Obtains internal approval of rate recommendation and selections and coordinates implementation of the new rates with I/S and Services. Responsible for preparing the filing memorandum and obtains insurance department approval. Analyzes experience and other Actuarial analysis. Applies model maintenance and updates for individual states.
Primary Accountabilities Rate Making (50%)
Updates and maintains predictive models.
Responsible for state rate level indication development, including trending and adjusting premiums, losses and expenses, using appropriate statistical and actuarial techniques.
Provide technical background in support of rate filings with State Insurance departments; responds to and resolves regulatory questions.
Maintains awareness and thorough understanding of the state`s business performance indicators/measures and state specific issues.
Works with business partners to develop rate recommendations.
Facilitate the rate review process and contributes to the pricing committee meetings to support the pricing strategy.
Develops relationship with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific business concerns.
Acts as a resource to help staff.
Responsible for peer review of work products.
Data & Analysis (35%)
Provides analysis to support business performance reviews.
Conducts competitive and market analysis and utilizes this data to support pricing strategies.
Assists in data preparation and testing.
Research & Development (15%)
Investigates and researches new rating plans and enhancements through predictive modeling and other Actuarial techniques.
Support the development of pricing for new products and rating structures.
Bachelors Degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics or other related quantitative discipline.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
Solid knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends.
Solid knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts and demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques.
Solid knowledge and understanding of forecasting and statistical analysis and modeling.
This position requires travel up to 5% of the time
Additional Job Information:
Preference given to candidates with:
At least 1 actuarial exam passed
Prior rate filing experience
Prior modeling, product design, and telematics experience.
Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple priorities
Demonstrated experience in communicating technical work to non-technical audiences
