Within this role, you will be knowledgeable and experienced within actuarial pricing. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to take the next step in the career in the pricing function. Your core responsibility will be a Business Partner for the underwriters by providing profitability analysis of markets, segments, and/or individual transactions. You will have the ability to create excellent relationships with colleagues working with stakeholders to deliver on business targets.
In more detail your area of duties will be:
Provide timely pricing and project work in support of team and departmental objectives.
Participate in account discussions with actuaries, underwriters, and other stakeholders
Prioritize work to ensure delivery of a final product within the specified timeframes.
Understand insurance and reinsurance terminology including contract language found in reinsurance placement slips.
Utilize PartnerRe actuarial models and understand the underlying actuarial theory
Participate on a variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests)
You have gained 3 to 7 years of work experience in non-life reinsurance pricing or large account primary pricing.
In addition, you hold a Bachelor's Degree and have at least 4 actuarial exams completed. Interest and experience in programming (for example in R, C#, SQL) would be an advantage.
Understand mathematical and statistical concepts in addition to transactional actuarial pricing theory
Exhibit clear communication and good time management skills even under pressure; communicate clearly and succinctly whether in oral or written form; attentive and active listener
Identify that a problem exists and apply basic critical thinking skills to develop solutions
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity to expand knowledge of actuarial and (re)insurance topics
Ability to navigate existing systems and processes to accomplish stated business objectives effectively and efficiently
