The Berkley Crime Production Underwriter is responsible for promoting profitable premium growth and favorable loss ratios in accordance with best practices, underwriting guidelines, line of business risk appetite and personal underwriting authority.  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Evaluating, rating and pricing new and renewal business

Development, maintenance and management of assigned producer/agency relationships

Communicating corporate goals, programs and underwriting programs and policies

Awareness and maintenance of personal production, hit ratios, renewal retention ratios, spread of risk and other production and quality measures.

2+ years of insurance industry experience in underwriting, production underwriting or sales

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, colleagues and the general public

Ability to professionally persuade, influence and negotiate with various audiences

Excellent time management skills, the ability to multi task in a fast paced environment while responding quickly when needed

Strong mathematical skills with the ability to work with probability and statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and other programs
