Your typical day as a Vice President, Quantitative Risk Management – Commercial Insurance will consist of:
70% Creating Proprietary Risk and Financial Models, and Research & Development: Working independently to build and maintain proprietary risk and financial models for the assessment of various perils including WC, D&O, Cyber, Captives, Casualty, and Weather. Identify patterns based on aggregate data to find risks and/or opportunities. Perform statistical analysis based on market knowledge and research expertise, analyze and validate findings, and creating reports & modeling.
30% Client Service: Collaborate with Executives, Sales, and Service Teammates to recognize and meet needs by identifying patterns based on aggregate data to find risks and/or opportunities.
We are seeking candidates with 10 years of work experience, preferably within an (re)insurance company or (re)insurance brokerage firm’s actuarial sciences group.
Degree in either mathematics or statistics. A credentialed casualty actuary is preferable, but not required.
Extensive experience in technical research, design, development, and implementation of stochastic risk models
Predictive modeling experience required
Proficiency in writing code in the following applications (SAS or R, and SQL)
