The Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Mathematical Sciences, beginning August 14, 2020. The length of the probationary period, normally seven years, may be reduced for the exceptional candidate. Specific duties as a faculty member include teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; scholarship in actuarial science; professional service.

Minimum qualifications: Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) or Society of Actuaries (SOA), and master’s degree (or higher) with at least 18 graduate credit hours related to actuarial science OR Ph.D. in a mathematical science (from an accredited institution) by date of appointment, and progress towards Associate or Fellow status of CAS or SOA (as evidenced by relevant documentation from the CAS or SOA). Demonstrated capacity for high-quality scholarship (as evidenced through at least one presentation, preprint. or publication).

Preferred qualifications: One or more years of experience in actuarial science acquired in either an academic or corporate environment. Refereed publications in actuarial science.
Curriculum vitae which includes the names of three references who would be able to submit letters addressing your qualifications including at least one of which substantially addresses your teaching ability and performance.
