After a week of training and orientation, spend time rotating through production teams at one of the host branches located throughout the U.S. During this time interns will log submissions, quote and bind renewal and new submissions, visit client agents with producers, attend carrier meetings, work on specifically assigned projects, work on policy maintenance activities, and potentially work on a project to be delivered to a group of local managers and staff. We consider this to be a 7 week job interview for rising seniors who are interested in a wholesale surplus lines sales and underwriting role.
• Have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 of a 4.0 scale • Be at least 18 years of age and able to show proof of legal eligibility to work in the U.S. • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills • Be pursuing a degree in Insurance and/or Risk Management • Have taken a minimum of 2 insurance and risk related courses prior to the internship start date
Additional Salary Information: We also pay for travel and lodging for those who need it.
