AFI is currently seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst primarily responsible for the review, development, and implementation of our Personal Homeowner GLM pricing model. The candidate is expected to work independently, with little direction from the supervisor.
Develops, maintains, and analyzes complex tools and models for review of AFI and industry products and rate structures including review and evaluation of the appropriateness of standard actuarial formulae.
Performs and evaluates complex analysis (e.g., competitor analysis, risk management, financial, business strategy, retention, etc.).
Communicates with Actuarial, Rate, & Statistical Analysts and transfers knowledge of rate development and analysis practices.
Helps to shape best practices around application of statistical modeling.
Completes complex actuarial functions and analysis used in determining the rate level need for all lines of business.
Develops communication strategies and materials to support new plans, programs, processes, products with assistance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or other directly relevant discipline;
Three years of actuarial pricing experience-preferably personal lines;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Pursuing actuarial designation and has completed at least four actuarial exams, five or more preferred.
