Oliver Wyman’s office in Atlanta, GA is currently seeking an actuarial analyst to support our property & casualty actuarial consulting practice. This position requires the candidate to work as part of a team of professionals to independently analyze complex problems and develop workable solutions. The candidate will achieve significant interaction and visibility with Oliver Wyman’s clients, which include captive insurance companies, state funds, large corporations, risk pools, and healthcare provider systems.
Projects include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with actuarial projects with a focus on Workers’ Compensation and liability loss reserving
Compile and verify client data
Setup spreadsheet analysis, templates, and exhibits
Apply complex actuarial theories and principles to create statistical models
Prepare production exhibits and written reports to present findings
Assist with additional actuarial projects which may include predictive modeling
Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for prospects
Attend marketing/sales presentations as required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field
Passed one or more actuarial exams
Actuarial internship experience preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Superior problem solving and learning abilities
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in team setting
Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong skills with MS Office products including Excel, R or other programming languages
Rapid learning from working with highly skilled consultants
