About this Position
Under limited supervision, performs more complex actuarial research, statistical analyses, and mathematical calculations. Works with executive management, management teams, research organizations, auditors and regulators. Has responsibility for most key analytical areas such as reserving, development of actuarial indications, and non-routine analysis within actuarial department.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Provide statistical and actuarial expertise to company management teams to support strategic goals of the organization.
Perform moderate to complex data compilation and analytical support for pricing, reserving and predictive analyses.
Develop tools to automate and improve actuarial processes.
Develop and implement business solutions that incorporate statistical models and computational data analysis that use Generalized Linear Modeling, Principal Components analysis, Clustering and Classification models, Multivariate Regressions and/or Decisions Trees.
Train and mentor lower level actuaries on data mining techniques and actuarial analysis skills.
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics or related field.
2 to 5 plus years of actuarial analysis.
Completion of 4 plus exams for Actuarial Analyst III; completion of 5 plus exams for Actuarial Analyst IV.
Currently pursuing designation of ACAS (Associate) in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Proficiency in Excel including use of macros.
Ability to write moderately complex computer programs and queries.
Ability to understand basic data analysis and actuarial techniques.
Insurance industry experience preferred.
