This is your chance to get a place on our Accelerated Underwriter Program in our Specialty Lines business.
What does Specialty Lines at Beazley underwrite?
Small Business / Private Enterprise
We are offering a one year training contract with the opportunity to become a permanent underwriter in our Specialty Lines Division. The training program is made up of three core parts and during each one there is a structured training program with the chance for you to get exposure to different work and people across the business. There will be assessments during each phase and with one-to-one feedback we’ll make sure you get all the support you need to be successful.
We want to make sure our graduate candidates have the skills required to be great underwriters. Phone screens will commence in November and run until the first week of December. Upon section, you will be asked to attend our Graduate Assessment Centre. This is a two day event, during which time; we’ll be assessing you across a range of activities, written exercises and client simulations. You’ll also be undertaking some aptitude and psychometric assessments as well as structured interviews.
The assessment will take place in our fantastic Atlanta office over the course of two days. This will occur the second week of January. During this time, you will be expected to attend a series of workshops and assessments. Beazley will fully cover your hotel, air fare and transportation. We will also arrange a group dinner and provide lunch and beverages throughout the day.
Upon successful completion of the Assessment Centre, you will be invited to our Underwriting Career Development Program

We expect you to have strong analytical skills, to evaluate risks and make solid business decisions. You will also need excellent interpersonal skills to work with brokers and other teams across Beazley. We like our underwriters to be results oriented, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with a strong sense of service and team work.
