In this position within the actuarial department you will support processes related to the actuarial reserve reviews of property and liability exposures for both personal and commercial lines of business. Global Indemnity is strategically positioned to provide coverage both as an excess and surplus lines carrier and as an admitted carrier.
Position & Responsibilities:
Perform quarterly reserve analysis on casualty and property lines
Perform Property reviews on a monthly basis
Document reserve process to support Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Produce summary exhibits for senior management
Updating ELR, rate change history, ULAE paid to paid ratios etc. to support the reserve analysis
Develop Reserve Ranges for Major Lines
Respond to ad hoc requests from Claims and Underwriting
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
3-6 years of relevant Property & Casualty actuarial experience; experience with personal or commercial lines reserve analyses preferred
Active participant in CAS actuarial track with 3-5 completed exams
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact independently with all levels of management and other departments is essential
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data from a number of sources; experience with SQL is a plus
Ability to think critically to solve work related problems with creativity
Strong technical skills in Microsoft office; experience with Microsoft Excel Visual Basic Applications is preferred
